Graphite was a solo exhibition by Danish-Korean artist Michael Baastrup Chang at Galleri Weinberger Schandorff, Copenhagen, August 19 – September 24, 2022. The show presented abstract works on canvas, paper, mobiles, and wall drawings, all centered on graphite as a fundamental artistic medium.
The exhibition connected Chang’s first childhood sketches with his current practice, highlighting graphite’s role in generating new artistic ideas and directions. A short video documents the installation, textures, and spatial arrangements of the show.
Michael Baastrup Chang (b. 1973) studied at Central Saint Martins in London and is based in Copenhagen. His work includes painting, printmaking, and drawing, with exhibitions at Galleri Weinberger Schandorff in 2016, 2020, and 2022. More at www.galleri-ws.dk.
